faith path

God designed the home as the primary place to nurture Christian faith. Faith Path is a step-by-step process that provides resources to help you foster spiritual disciplines and prepare for key milestones along your child’s faith journey.

Faith Path recommends focusing on particular practices or preparing for certain milestones at specific ages, grades, and stages. You’ll find recommended resources and ideas for beginning each step in your child’s life and continuing as he or she grows.

We are so excited about this new tool for families. It is a simple way to help you be more intentional. The path begins with a Parent Dedication before age 3 and ends with a rite of passage before you launch them as an adult.

Along the way, you will spend an entire year or a few years focusing on a topic at home. For example, year 3 is a year in which you pray blessings over your kid. During 3rd-4th grades, you talk about serving and generosity. Each path includes tools and ideas about how to be intentional with your kids.

Deuteronomy 6 says, “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” -Deuteronomy 6:6-9 [NIV84]. The Scriptures are not saying that we need to graffiti our living rooms and kitchens with Bible verses, though placing the Word of God in easily accessible areas for little eyes to read is a great idea!

The Bible is encouraging us to use teachable moments with our kids!

●      Pray with them on the way to school

●      Answer their questions about the Lord and the Bible

●      Listen to Christian music as a family

●      Ask them what they learned on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights

●      Read Bible stories with them!
